Hello! My name is Brian Bloss and I’m an artist and animator based in Southern California. I’m currently working on a variety of personal and freelance work. I believe in creating experiences, not just aesthetics. Animation as a shared journey into imagination where ideas and stories come to life. My goal is to connect with audiences and collaborators alike, creating work that resonates well beyond the screen.
Storyboarding is one of the most enjoyable aspects of animation for me. It's a place of pure imagination where stories and characters can run wild. Anything is possible at this stage and creating a solid visual narrative transfers to every frame down the line.
Every great story begins with a great character. From turnarounds to shape design, building character is a journey of discovery from the inside out. I believe designing a character is more than mere appearance but should be based on concrete traits and temperaments.
Bringing images to life is the core of animation and one of the most satisfying things and artist can undertake. I specialize in 2D and hand drawn animation, rooted in the timeless fundamentals that have captivated audiences for over a century.
